Anambra State Government says it has launched several tree planting and urban afforestation campaigns to save the state from environmental devastation.
Correspondent, Chukwuemeka Modilim reports that the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Environment, Mr Tochukwu Obodoigha disclosed this during a tree planting exercise in Awka by the staff of the ministry to observe world tree planting day.
He pointed out that the Soludo administration has done a lot to enhance the beauty of the environment, combat menace of erosion and ensure stability of the environment and called on Ndi Anambra to always plant trees in their homes as it promotes healthy living, mitigates the effects of climate change and reduces soil erosion.
