Tributes As Renowned Teacher In Nsugbe John Nweke Goes Home

Nsugbe Community in Anambra East Local Government Area on Saturday last week played host to people from all walks of life who gathered from within and outside the State to pay their last respects to a renowned teacher, late Chief John Nweke, who died at the age of ninety-one.

The burial witnessed influx of people including government functionaries, villagers, family members, friends and well-wishers including the Governor of Anambra State, Professor Chukwuma Soludo, Senator representing Anambra North Senatorial District, Dr Tony Nwoye, member representing Anambra East and West Federal Constituency, Honourable Peter Anekwe, a onetime Senator that represented Anambra North Senatorial district, Senator Ubanese Igbeke, among others who are associates of the last child of the deceased, Barrister Tochukwu Nweke , SAN, the Special Adviser to Governor Soludo on Legal Matters.

In a homily, an indigenous priest Reverend Father Emmanuel Anyansi noted that death of a loved one is always painful no matter the age, urging the bereaved family to bear the loss with fortitude, noting that the deceased lived a good Christian life. 

The first son of the deceased, Barrister John Nweke and his first Daughter, Mrs Obiagaeli Amobi, described their late father as a disciplinarian, educationist and one who eradicated illiteracy in the community and beyond, praying for his peaceful repose and appreciated everyone who identified with their family in one way or the other.
