Keeping with the slogan of Nsugbe community in Anambra East Local Government Area which is “truthfulness, mutual co-existence and peace”, the youths of the community have trooped out in their numbers to protest against some members of the community allegedly fanning the flames of criminality in the community.
The protest was in reaction to an earlier protest by another group against the arrest of one Mr Onyedika Dibua; popularly known as “Onyedika Iyi” from Abba village Nsugbe, whom the counter-protesters fingered as perpetrating different forms of crime in the community, and has been indicted by different police investigations.

The protesters who had different placards with inscriptions including “Nsugbe cannot condone criminal activities”, said Mr Dibua has been sacked as a member of Nsugbe Council of Elders, and also stripped of all his titles by the council.

Speaking after the protest terminated at the residence of the eldest man in Nsugbe and leader of Nsugbe Council of Elders, Chief Chukwulozie Ezeadi, the leader of the youths, Comrade Obinna Mokwe, explained that many of those who protested the arrest of Mr Dibua were deceived or paid to do so, and called on those who are encouraging criminal activity in the community to turn a new leaf.
