A total of one thousand eighty-three women petty traders resident in Dunukofia Local Government Area have received fifty thousand naira each from their Mayor, Barrister Chijioke Ozumba to boost their businesses.
Addressing the gathering at Dunukofia council’s secretariate, Ukpo, Barrister Ozumba explained that the money was to help the beneficiaries expand their businesses, alliviate hardships in their families and commended Prince Arthur Eze and Chief Jim Nwabueze for supporting the project.

While flagging off the programme, wife of Anambra State Governor, Dr Nonye Soludo’ charged the beneficiaries to use the fund for the purpose it is meant for and used the event to flagg off Dunukofia literary rebirth, her healthy living exercise and healthy living farm project in the local government.

On his part, the member representing Dunukofia Constituency in Anambra State House of Assembly, Honourable Chuks Azotani who commended the economic empowerment programme, expressed gratitude to the Governor’s wife for promoting healthy living in the state through her programme and revealed that the people of Dunukofia will vote massively for the All Progressives Grand Alliance during the November eight Anambra governorship election, while some of the beneficiaries, including Lynda Modili and Mrs Catherine Uke assured that they live up to expectations.
