First of June every year has been set aside as Global Day of Parents; to appreciate all parents for their selfless commitment to children and their lifelong sacrifices towards nurturing them.
Queen Anigbogu reports that the theme for the 2025 celebration is “Raising Parents”; aimed at drawing attention to the fact that parents need assistance and encouragement in their parenting role.
Speaking about the day, a father of four, Mr. Paul Umeh, and a mother of three, Mrs Oduayo Ayodele, maintained that as parents who are still training children, it is what they sow in the lives of their children today that would determine the support they will get from them in future.
A teenager, Miss Treasure Chibundo, who thanked all parents globally for their commitment in training their children, promised to put more efforts in her academics and in other areas of her life so as to make her parents proud.
