The Drivers Welfare Club of Nigeria, Anambra State chapter has been Inaugurated, as well as Drivers Safety Manifest and Biometrics launched at the Professor Dora Akunyili Women’s Development Centre, Awka where the National President and founder of the club, Comrade Monday Elimigbe explained that the club is a registered body that is responsible for overseeing the general welfare of the Nigerian drivers, and that they were formally registered in 2003 and inaugurated in 2006, adding that they have also opened a microfinance bank where their members can take loans for their own benefits.

Also speaking, the State chairman of the club, Comrade Ikechukwu Obiegbu-Ikeobi noted that their mission is to make the driving profession very responsible, with benefits that stretched to retirement as a result of old age, accidents among others, as well as have a sufficient and effective database for their members.

According to the State Chief of Operation of the Club, Architect Chukwuka Okonkwo, who is also the Chief Executive Officer of O.C Bravo Global Impex, it is a new dawn for Anambra drivers as the benefits of the club are enormous, including health insurance for their members.
