In a move to ensure smooth operations and improved revenue collection, the Anambra State Government has inaugurated caretaker committees for various major markets in Nnewi.
The markets include, Motorcycle Spare Parts market, Electricals/Electronics market, Agbo-Edo United Traders Association, F-Line, Plant Parts Dealers Association, Ofuobi Traders all in Nnewi and Fairly Used Motor Parts Dealers Association, Mgbuka-Obosi.
The newly inaugurated committees which took their oath of office were tasked with maintaining order and fostering trader-government collaboration as well as preventing misconduct in the markets.
The Special Adviser to the governor on trade and markets, Chief Evarist Uba, who performed the inauguration in Awka charged the committees to prioritize the government’s interests while ensuring fair treatment for traders.
