The Federal Government has reiterated that it will not directly invest in the establishment of a national carrier, but remains open to viable proposals from private or public entities, both local and international.
Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Mr Festus Keyamo, who made the clarification, explained that the government’s focus is on creating a policy environment that supports the growth and sustainability of existing local airline operators, rather than directly funding a national carrier project.
Mr Keyamo added that the ministry is currently prioritizing policy development to strengthen domestic aviation players.
