Anambra State House of Assembly Committee on Works and Infrastructure says it is unhappy with the pace of reconstructio11àn works on the Abba section of Abagana–Ukpo–Abba–Awkuzu Road, handled by Grand Star Limited
The Chairman of the Committee, Engineer Emma Nwafor, who led members of the Committee on a visit to the project site, stated that the road which serves as a major link between several communities in Njikoka, Dunukofia, and Oyi local government areas, is vital for socioeconomic development, and its delay is causing hardship to road users.

The lawmaker representing Njikoka two Constituency, Dr. Jude Akpua, expressed dismay with the slow pace of work and the level of execution, while the Minority Leader of the House and member representing Nnewi South two Constituency, Honourable Johnbosco Akaegbobi, urged the contractor to redouble efforts and prioritize the project.

In his response, the project contractor, Engineer Benjamin Akabuike expressed regret over the delay and attributed it to certain unforeseen challenges including funding issues.
