The wife of the governor of Anambra State, Mrs Nonye Soludo, has urged stakeholders in the education sector to think out practical mechanisms for dealing with the rising moral degeneration and eroding value system in schools.
The governor’s wife who was speaking during a one-day congress for stakeholders in education in Anambra State, explained that the degenerating level of morality and social values in classrooms call for immediate and collaborative approaches to protect the future of the society .

Mrs. Soludo also noted that the fight should begin from homes to restore the bond and unity which once held the families together.
Earlier, the Executive Chairman of Anambra State Universal Basic Education Board, Dr Vera Nwadinobi who convened the congress under the theme, “Moral Regeneration and Value Re-orientation At The Basic Education Level: The Role of Education Stakeholders in Anambra State,” said that basic education is the foundation of moral, civic and intellectual capital, adding that it is during formative years that character is cultivated, and values are internalized.
