Asphalting is currently on going on the four point one kilometres Umuona-Aguluzigbo-Nanka road, a project awarded by Governor Chukwuma Soludo.
Speaking to the ABS, the Area manager of the construction company, Engineer Yusuf Zreb said they have completed earth work, did laterite sub base, stone base and is now doing one hundred and fifty-millimeters asphalt to ensure durability of the road, assuring that they will complete the three roads in the area spanning eight point five kilometres by December this year.
The member representing Aguata Two Constituency in Anambra State House of Assembly, Honourable Tony Muobike while applauding Governor Chukwuma Soludo for listening to the yearnings of people of the area, extended appreciation from people of the area, to Governor Soludo whom he said are very excited about the road he said will make journey to and from Ekwulobia to Awka very easy, as it cuts across Aguata, Aniocha and Orumba North Local Government Areas.
Reacting on the development, the Traditional Ruler of Aguluzigbo, Igwe Rufus Ilodiuba, represented by the Palace Secretary, Mr. Christian Okoye, expressed happiness that finally, the road is being tarred after many promises by politicians, adding that the road will help farmers who abandoned their farms because of the dilapidated nature of the road before now, thereby boosting food security in the area.
