The Acting Vice-Chancellor of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, Professor Kate Omenugha says the Combined Convocation and Silver Jubilee Ceremonies of the university is a celebration of excellence, togetherness, and pride in the name of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu whom she described as a hero of all times.
She stated this during a press conference in preparation for the Combined Convocation and Silver Jubilee Ceremonies to intimate the general public of the weeklong activities lined up for the double events which will hold at the Igbariam campus of the university, where she recounted how the university was established in the year 2000 with five hundred students, fifty-six staff members but today has grown in leaps and bounds with twenty-three thousand, five hundred students, one thousand five hundred and eighty-two staff, with many more achievements.


Professor Omenugha listed the activities to include Silver Jubilee, Health Charity Walk to key into the Healthy Living of Nonye Soludo, Back to Our root event, Founders and Heritage Day Cultural Carnival Award, Documentary on COOU at twenty-five, Convocation Lectures among others to commence tomorrow Saturday 17th May and ends on 24th May.
