The groups are made up of members of Civil Society Organizations, operators of community children homes, security operatives, legal and health practitioners, among others, and their training, which took place at Professor Dora Akunyili Women Development Center Awka, was in partnership with SOS Children’s Villages Nigeria, and Child Protection Network Nigeria.
Speaking while inaugurating the groups, Mrs Obinabo urged their members to take the task at hand seriously, and come out with better guidelines for the alternative care for children, which he noted has been posing challenges in the state.
The National Representative of the Child Protection Network, Mr Victor Dorawa-Koreyo, and the state Coordinator, Mrs Eucharia Anaekwe, called on the Technical Working Groups to put all hands on deck to see that the project is delivered within timeframe, noting that Anambra will be at advantage if the adopted strategy is implemented.
