Soludo Tasks Engineers On Professional Contributions To Nation Building

Governor Chukwuma Soludo has urged Nigeria Society of Engineers to offer their professional ingenuity in fixing the country’s various challenges.

Governor Soludo represented by the Managing Director, Anambra State Road Maintenance Agency, Engineer Obinna Nduka made the call during the inauguration ceremony of Engineer Markanthony Onwughalu as the third Chairman, Nigeria Society of Engineers, Aguata Branch.

Governor Soludo who highlighted the achievements of his administration in critical sectors such as road, health, and electricity disclosed that his administration has controlled eleven point eight kilometres of erosion and rehabilitated five water schemes in Awka, Otuocha, Nnewi, Obizi and greater Onitsha geared towards making the life of Ndi Anambra enjoyable and prosperous.

In his acceptance speech, the new Chairman, Nigeria Society of Engineers, Aguata Branch, and Engineer Onwughalu explained that his focus is on advancing engineering excellence, capacity building, professional development of their members, institutional and Industrial collaboration among others.

In her remarks, the President Nigeria Society of Engineers, Engineer Margaret Oguntola represented by Engineer Edmund Nkalu charged engineers to play their role in ensuring that engineering profession is practiced with utmost professionalism and ensure that they achieve the best with minimal resources, while the member representing Aguata Constituency at the House of Representatives, Chief Domnic Okafor urged engineers to be in the forefront to ensure that right specifications are used and implemented in the execution of building project to avoid building collapses.
