According to a release by the ministry, the state Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, Mrs. Chiamaka Nnake, while addressing the principals at the event, reiterated Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s resolve to reposition education in the state through technology-driven reforms.
In their remarks, the Education Commissioner, Professor Ngozi Chuma-Udeh, explained that Governor Soludo is not just interested in education as it was, but in smart education, while the Post Primary Schools Service Commission Chairman, Professor Nkechi Ikediegwu encouraged the school principals to fully understand and embrace their role in the success of the initiative.
On his part, the Managing Director of the State ICT Agency, Mr Fred Agbata, described ‘Smart Learn Anambra’ as a bold step toward integrating technology into secondary education, and outlined the core components of the initiative to include infrastructure enhancement, provision of learning devices, specialized laboratories, school upgrades and renovations, among others.
