The Federal Government has granted Value Added Tax and import duty exemption to raw materials essential for the production of pharmaceutical products.
In a statement, the National Public Relations Officer of the Nigerian Customs Service, Mr Abdullahi Maiwada, added that the exemption covers Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients, excipients and other vital raw materials required for manufacturing essential medicines, Long-Lasting Insecticidal Nets, Rapid Diagnostic Kits, reagents, and packaging materials.
