NAFDAC Seizes Over 100 Truckloads Of Substandard, Illicit Medicines From Three Major Drug Markets

As part of a sweeping enforcement operation, the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control has seized and evacuated over one hundred truck­loads of substandard, falsified, expired, and banned medicines from three major drug mar­kets Idumota, Onitsha and Aba.

The Director General of NAFDAC, Professor Mojisola Adey­eye, disclosed this during a press briefing emphasizing the grave threat these illicit drugs pose to public health and national security.

She warned that if these drugs had remained in circulation, they could have undermined the quali­ty of life for millions of Nigerians.
