Anambra State Government recorded one hundred and two thousand, six hundred and forty-three deliveries and three hundred and forty-three Cesarean Sections in eighteenth months since the introduction of its free antenatal care and delivery policy.
The State Commissioner for Health, Dr Afam Obidike, who made this known in Awka said, the that free antenatal care and delivery for expectant mothers will remain throughout the Governor Chukwuma Soludo administration.
The commissioner said that the state government was making significant investments in the healthcare sector to improve access for residents adding thay Anambra is now one of the states with the lowest maternal mortality even as pregnant women from other states come to register in Anambra.
